A food label is the surface on which the product tells its own story on the shelf. It also carries the information that must be declared: product name, ingredients, allergen warnings, net quantity and storage conditions. For this reason, legibility comes before design preferences in food labels.
Storage conditions directly determine the label material. For cold and frozen products, the label is expected to keep its adhesion properties at low temperature, not to lift after condensation and not to have edges that open up. In humid environments, film-based options give more consistent results than paper-based materials.
For products with oil and acid contact (olive oil, sauces, pickles, dairy products), the adhesive choice is evaluated separately. When a thin film of oil forms on the surface, adhesion strength can decrease; for this reason, an oil-resistant adhesive or a protective surface is preferred.
The scope of the legal information on the label varies according to the product category and the legislation in force. The accuracy and currency of this information is the responsibility of the product owner; ensuring that the content you declare is transferred to the label correctly and legibly is our part of the work.
